Cara, Veterinary Assistant
Cara has been an animal enthusiast since her days in North Dakota where she was born and spent most of her early childhood. Her summer days involved hanging out with the pigs in the sty removing ticks from behind their ears, playing chase with the family dog, and catching chickens in the hen house. She developed a great admiration and respect for all animals, great and small, and believes that her family could never be complete without a trusty woof at its heart.
Cara has lived in Washington since 2002 and graduated from Western Washington University in the spring of 2015 with a degree in cell and molecular biology. She began working at Mountain Vet later that same year in July. There she has been daily building on her knowledge of biology and improving her animal handling skills.
Cara currently lives on a small homestead with her faithful canine companion, Trekker, two impish goats, a feisty kitty, a hive of honeybees, and an assortment of plump, pretty buttercup chickens. She is an avid hiker and mushroom enthusiast and also enjoys swimming, yoga, salsa dancing, road biking, food, and gardening.
