Jennifer Moore, DVM-to-be
I grew up playing outdoors in a small town in North Idaho. I think I was destined to work with animals. Even at a young age I preferred stuffed animals to dolls. I moved to Bellingham to obtain my Bachelors degree and I fell in love with the area. It took me awhile to decide on a major, but with the guidance and support that I received from Dr. Stone and Dr. Schraeder (fondly known as Ed and Michelle) I decided to go into veterinary medicine.
I worked at Mountain Veterinary Hospital from 2005-2009. I met the love of my life while working there. It was love at first site for me. He was the runt of a litter that was born at the clinic. His name is Cronus, and he has been a medical nightmare, but I can't imagine life without him. After several years I decided to add another cat named Atlas to my family.
I am currently attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. I have been SCUBA diving since 2006 and most of my dives have been in Puget Sound. The warm water down here has been a nice change. I have also recently adopted an island dog, known as a coconut retriever. Her name is Neri. Even though most people dream of living on a tropical island, I can't wait to go back home to Western Washington. Back
