About Mountain
Veterinary Hospital
Since 1986, we have cared for the dogs and cats of Bellingham and Whatcom County. Our approach blends decades of veterinary experience with honest guidance and genuine warmth for every pet and family.
Serving Bellingham Pet Families Since 1986
Mountain Veterinary Hospital opened in 1986 and has been part of the Bellingham community ever since. Our mission is simple: to provide high-quality veterinary care at a reasonable price.
Experience runs deep here. Our veterinary team brings decades of combined knowledge to every exam room. Our two senior veterinarians each have roughly 40 years in veterinary medicine, and our associate veterinarians each bring more than 10 years of experience. After so many years, there are few conditions we have not seen or treated.
We also believe good care means good conversations. Many concerns have more than one treatment, and costs can vary widely. We walk you through each option—its advantages, its trade-offs, and its price. Then we help you make an informed decision that fits your pet and your family.
Rooted in the Whatcom County Community
Caring for pets goes beyond our exam rooms. For more than 30 years, we have donated surgical and medical services to the Whatcom Humane Society, helping homeless animals get a healthier start. We also support local organizations and work to operate in an environmentally responsible way.
Giving back to Bellingham and the surrounding community has always been part of who we are. You can read more about our community partnerships and the causes we care about.
Why Families Choose Mountain Veterinary Hospital
Care that stays in one place
We handle most of your pet’s needs under one roof, from wellness exams and dental care to surgery, diagnostics, and lab work. That means fewer referrals and a familiar team through every stage of life. For many families, seeing the same trusted faces year after year makes each visit calmer for both pet and owner.
Integrative and rehabilitation therapies
Alongside everyday care, our services include options many clinics do not offer. We provide acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and food therapy. We also offer rehabilitation tools like an underwater treadmill, therapeutic laser, and stem cell therapy. These therapies can support healing and comfort for many pets recovering from injury, surgery, or age-related aches.
A partner in every decision
Just as important, we treat you as a partner in your pet’s care. We explain every option clearly, weigh the benefits and costs together, and respect the choice you make. That blend of deep experience, gentle handling, and honest guidance is what keeps families coming back year after year.
